Youth Evangelism Fund 2008 (archive)

The Youth Evangelism Fund (YEF) distributes a large sum of money across eight dioceses each year to local youth groups for mission and outreach. The dioceses to receive grants in 2008 will be: Portsmouth, Blackburn, Peterborough, Carlisle, Worcester, Canterbury, Hereford and Norwich.
The main purpose of this fund is to enable young people to share their faith in Jesus Christ in ways that make sense to young people aged 11-20 across the Diocese. We have been allocated about £22,000 of funding which groups of local young people can apply for.
More information
The Diocese of Portsmouth has been invited to take its part in the Church of England’s Youth Evangelism Fund Programme for 2008. Now in its third year the Youth Evangelism Fund aims to put resources and funds into the hands of young people as they go about spreading the good news of Jesus. It seeks to enable more young people to connect with the Christian Gospel and develop their faith within the life of the Church. The fund seeks to affirm projects and proposals that share the Good News of Jesus Christ in ways that make sense to young people.
Portsmouth Diocese has been allocated about £22,000 of funding which local groups of young people can apply for by the end of July 2008. Decisions about the projects will be made in the autumn of this year by the Church of England Youth Evangelism Fund Group and funding for the projects will arrive in early 2009. We are inviting groups of young people in all situations to get creative and think about how they might spread the Good News.
