Adviser
Ben Mizen has been the Youth and Children’s Work Adviser for the diocese since February 2005 – first as part of the Diocesan Board of Education and now as part of the Mission & Disciplehip Team. Having been in full time youth work since 1995 Ben brings a wealth of experience and wisdom to working with young people and children, whether in or outside of the church.
Before coming to the diocese he was the Youth Minister for St Paul’s church in St Albans where he developed a full programme for young people inside and outside of the church communtiy. He was also responsible for leading worship at an evening service where the young people found a home to “hang out with God”. Ben has also worked nationally for The Boys’ Brigade in the UK as a training officer, for St James’ Church, Voorschoten, in the Netherlands as their first Youth Worker, for Cheltenham Youth For Christ as a staff worker and before all of that he was a primary school teacher.
Apart from work Ben has been married to Julie for nine years, loves popular music and making a loud noise with lots of guitars.
