Young Vocations
The Diocese of Portsmouth (Church of England) wants to encourage gifted and committed young men and women, from all kinds of backgrounds, to consider whether God is calling them into ordained ministry as priests. From there, there are lots of exciting and challenging job options! You can find out more about those choices on this website.
If you are interested in finding out more, then please contact the following people who have responsibility for young vocations in our diocese. Each of the groups has a programme of events, reflection times and opportunites to ask questions.
- For the Portsmouth, Havant, Petersfield, Bishop’s Waltham, Fareham and Gosport deaneries contact The Revd Charlie Allen on 02392 381414 – email here
- For the East and West Wight deaneries contact The Ven. Caroline Baston for more details on 01983 884432 – email here
If you feel a sense of calling from God, we’ll help you explore that and consider what to do next. For further information about the Church of England and its young vocations initiative visit the “Call Waiting” website here

Whilst in Portsmouth diocese we are therefore seeking to encourage the development of ordained ministry we encourage everyone who believes God is calling them to deeper discipleship and service to respond to that call’
