ephebiphobia… are you scared?

I spent a day with a number of youth and children’s specialists from the Church of England reflecting on the state of church engagement with young people. We met at ChristChurch College in Oxford where the Harry Potter Dining Hall scenes are filmed (see picture)
This post has some more detail about the topic areas we aimed to cover. During our discussions a difficult theme emerged. Ephebiphobia or the fear of youth could be one of the reasons (there are others!!) that the church struggles to work/minister with young adolescents (14+).
